So if you do not plan on voting for McCain and do not plan on voting for Obama Hussein, who do you plan on voting for? Or do you plan on, dare I say, not voting at all?

Thank you. We call it culling of the herd.

Since when do "liberals" setup an apartheid regime and routinely imprison and kill innocent people? Iran's government is not opposed to western civilization, as you purport, but rather the policies of certain western governments (namely the US). But even if they were opposed to western civilization, isn't that their right? Would not a true liberal feel an obligation to acknowledge Iran's point of view and "live and let live"?

It is not Iran that has the track record of attacking other countries. It is the U.S. and Israel. My hope was (and still is) that we will put someone in office who will put an end to western imperialism and start talking to the "fundies" (as you so eloquently refer to them) rather than bombing them.

Iran, like most of the middle east, is run by fascist fundies that dislike western civilization and israel for being too liberal. I'd rather side w/ Israel on this one than side w/ the fundies. Sorry, but if that's all it took for Obama to lose your vote, I'd say you're quite the hard-line conservative to be on the side of the fundies in this case. :-/

Yes, I'm certain that he has to say certain things to appease the AIPAC. The question I have is, does it end after inauguration or does he continue to bow to Israel? History shows that presidents in the US always do, although if you look at the "peace process" under Clinton, it was certainly better than under Bush.

I understand the whole "lesser evil" argument and would certainly do what it takes to keep McCain out. My post is more of an expression of disappointment and frustration that yet another politician is so effortlessly lying to the American people.

Furthermore, what he said about Iran goes beyond just politics. It is dangerous. Bush will make Obama eat his words. If someone doesn't vocally stand up and say no to attacking Iran (unless of course Iran were to attack us), Obama's willingness for diplomacy may come too late.

I think your AIPAC post explains Obama. I think think Obama has made some comments which for me signal that he'll be fairer in the Middle East than McCain but my feeling is that Obama is also a pragmatist and realizes that (due ot AIPAC and related factors) he's not going to get elected unless he says certain things regarding Israel.

You might want to look at Cynthia McKinney who is running on the Green Party ticket and is definitely more explicit about her proposed foreign policy with regard to Israel so *if you live in a "safe" state" I'd encourage you to vote for her. But if not then I would still say that Obama is still definitely better.
