My brother from another mother, Tavis Smiley, reported on the Tom Joyner Morning Show on September 13th that, on the 14th, he would appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and discuss his upcoming “All-American Presidential Forums on PBS.”
The Democratic forum has already passed, and the stage has been set for the Republican forum. As with the first one, all candidates were invited, but unlike the first one, many of the top candidates have declined, namely: Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, Senator John McCain, and Governor Mitt Romney.
This is no accident nor coincidence. The same candidates also failed to attend a forum hosted by the Hispanic community, and it only stands to reason that they have little or no interest in hearing the concerns of African American and Hispanic voters.
As to why any African American Republicans in America would vote for such hypocrites who do not even have the decency to listen to or address the concerns of their constituency is beyond me. It only confirms what most African Americans already knew: They don’t care about us. Spread the word.
