Here is further proof that most western “experts” understand nothing about Islam:
The Indepedent is carrying a story noting, “The Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, warned in a hard-hitting speech that snubbing Ankara’s hopes would give ammunition to Islamic extremists, while welcoming it into the EU would help avert a “clash of civilisations” between the Muslim world and the West. ”
Yes, Mr. Straw. I confess. Turkey is the highest country on the Islamic agenda, and Muslims want nothing more than Turkey in the European Union. Hello! Am I here right now? Come on, where’s the hidden camera?
Turkey = one of the most secular countries in the world.
European Union = kind of like the secular gentlemen’s club, complete with imported cigars and unlimited putting on the green. No, sorry, not interested.
It is amazing how much these people tend to beg the question. What is the question, you ask? Iraq. Where are most of the extremists right now? Iraq. What is the EU worried about? Turkey?
If the EU had any backbone, which it doesn’t, holding Britain accountable for the war in Iraq would be the top priority and the one thing that could “avert a “clash of civilisations” between the Muslim world and the West.”
Of course, I would be foolish to think that this diversion is some type of blunder. It is merely another dog being wagged.
