First of all, let me state clearly that this is not a complaint.
I called my mentor and told her that we have received a lot of books
from various places (other than our main vendor). I asked her how
I go about getting them cataloged, barcoded, etc.
Well, as it turns out, I have to do it. I don't actually do the
MARC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARC_standards) records, but I still have to enter in all the info for each book,
wait for the books to be cataloged, print the barcodes, print the spine
labels, and apply all of it to the books. But like I said, I'm
not complaining.
When I was in Chicago, I had to do the MARC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARC_standards) records too, so this is a step up in the library world for me.
